Kitui County came alive on Saturday as Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Jonathan Mueke, attended the thrilling finals of the Hon. Mamen Cup at Kiini Grounds, Nzambani Ward.
The match saw Kiini FC face off against Kavalula FC in an intense showdown that brought together sports enthusiasts from across the county.
As one of the event’s sponsor, PS Mueke provided cash awards for the top four teams and donated balls to all participating teams, emphasizing his commitment to nurturing local talent. The league, organized by Hon. Joseph Musyoka “Mamen,” has been hailed as a significant initiative to unite the youth and promote talent development.
Speaking at the event, PS Mueke congratulated Hon. Musyoka for organizing such a remarkable league and emphasized the role of sports in fostering unity and talent growth among the youth. The event also attracted prominent leaders, including Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kinengo Katisya, host MCAs, and other dignitaries.
Earlier in the day, PS Mueke held an end-of-year meeting with grassroots leaders from across Kitui County at The Ngolu Hotel in Kitui Central Constituency. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the county’s progress and align future development priorities with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
